AFTERCARE

 Microblading Aftercare Instructions:

Stay out of the sun. If you must be out in the elements, wear a hat and sunglasses. DO NOT put sunscreen on brows during healing!

Keep water off of your brows for 5-7 days! This includes steam from the shower. Even if you dont get them wet while showering, the steam causes pigment to push out of the “hair strokes”. If at all possible, take a bath instead. Note: the longer you go not getting them wet, the better the healing results.

You can wear makeup, just work around your brows. Do not use any face creams, exfoliates, or harsh cleansers on your brows during the healing process. Use makeup remover wipes to remove any facial makeup (avoiding eyebrows).

Heavy excercise such as aerobics, hot yoga, weight lifting, cycling, etc (anything that causes you to sweat heavily) should be delayed for approximately three-five days following the procedure. Light workouts where you aren’t sweating are ok.

Your procedure will begin to oxidize during the next few days. This causes the pigment to become darker. Do not be alarmed, as this darker color will either flake off or fade back to the color that was first implanted when microblading was finished by technician.

Do Not pick any scabs or dry areas that may form during the healing process. This may cause you to lose color or damage your skin. If ointment was given to you, apply a light amount to your brows. Depending on the clients skin (oily, dry, combination) ointment is given or not given upon technicians discretion.

Other fading or loss of pigment may occur. Some flaking off of the pigment is normal on some skin types. Some clients may lose up to 50% of their pigment after the first round. This is why touch ups are mandatory. This is a 3 step process, so patience is key .

Judgement of your final results should be deferred until one month following the second touch up procedure.

Remember, Microblading is not at tattoo, but a semi-permanent form of tattooing. Everyone will heal and maintain pigment differently. Skin type, diet, medications, activities, etc. all play a huge roll in how one will hold pigment. Refreshers are available for maintaining your new brows throughout the year and years to come. Some may need more than others. Its up to you if you want to continue to have microbladed brows. Otherwise, they will fade away.
